February is SHARE THE LOVE month!

We all know wonderful, committed, Girl Scout women and men who are very deserving of being recognized, don’t we? 

Did you know that there are national Girl Scout adult awards that can be given to outstanding adults in your town or Service Unit or community and that these awards can be presented at the local level?

Giving and receiving these awards is a lot of fun and means a lot to the both the givers and the recipients.

Please bring this to the attention of your friends and your Service Unit.  Anyone can nominate anyone for these, as long as they meet the criteria.

Beacon Award Criteria  - for non-monetary support of Girlscouts by outside agencies/individuals.

Get started by looking these over for the criteria and finding out which nominations need supporting letters. Your Community can then make a list of volunteers and which award they should receive this spring.  Once you have a list of people (it may be only one) and a list of who will write which piece, it does not take long to complete the paperwork. The key is to get started with the process in the next couple of days!

Staff members can help with letters of support or by helping you find volunteers and others who know the scope of your candidate’s volunteer commitment.

Nominations and supporting letters are due to mlivingston@gslakesandpines.org by February 26.

Our Council has a tradition of providing Numeral Guards (Year Pins) free of charge when volunteers achieve 5-year landmarks.
