Uniforms & Insignia Placement
Girl Scouts wear an official uniform sash, vest, or tunic to proudly display their earned awards. In addition, girls may choose from casual or dress uniform components as shown in the Girl Scout Catalog. When participating in ceremonies or officially representing Girl Scouts, girls wear their own khaki pants and white shirts with their sash, vest, or tunic.
Not sure where the insignia, badges and emblems go on your Girl Scout uniform? Click on the appropriate age-level diagram below:
Girl Scout Daisy (gr K-1)
Girl Scout Brownie (gr 2-3)
Girl Scout Junior (gr 4-5)
Girl Scout Cadette (gr 6-8)
Girl Scout Senior (gr 9-10)
Girl Scout Ambassador (gr 11-12)
During this transition time, girls do not have to remove previously-earned awards from their sashes or vests to conform to the “new” placement guidelines. New awards may be worn in combination with badges, pins, and insignia already earned at their age level.

Iron-On Instructions
Most Girl Scout badges and patches are now iron-on products. Always look for the ironing instructions on the package. If there is no packaging with instructions, the item is not iron-on and must be sewn to the uniform.
